[Known] Skills gained in offline mode, are shown for online character

I was waiting for r43 to be live online after i downloaded the update. So i made a new character in offline mode just to entertain myself a bit.

Once the R43 went live i went into online mode. the bludgeon and healthy skills i had gained in offline mode, were showing where you normally gain in skills. and not my typical skills i had been working on in online mode.


After i hit K and my skills shown prior to clicking on a skill tree, were reflecting my light armor from offline mode with little skill.

Seems as if old data lingers

 

We had just corrected the opposite recently - going from online to offline. New bug # is: 47719

 

So are the skills true? or is it just visuals?

 

not going into offline mode till this is fixed

 

or go into offline mode edit your save file and be a GM in all skills when you get back online

 

@Animosh Is it just a visual though? Please explain further pretty please.

 

I think it is the side icons, I've had this before as well.. it is visual, just the side icons show in different modes.. as in: I've leveled a skill in offline, and when I do that, the skill icon shows on the right hand side of the screen, by default. If I log into a different mode (ANDI believe if I log in with an alt, from online to online mode, same thing) the icon from the level-up with the other character shows still, even if it is untrained or not training (or not told to show).

 

I have no idea i do not play offline

. If the game is just putting up the glyphs and level from offline play as a visual and not actually making the stats what they are in offline. If it is actually changing the stats this is huge

I'm getting confused then if you don't play offline? I hope to nip this in the bud so I can get in as many bug reports as possible today

 

Do this, make a character, level up some skills, then log in as an old character, different username, NOTE, this can be done completely with online characters.. different usernames/passwords, SAME machine (important detail, I believe).
The old character will be shown the side panel with the levels gained from the other account. I believe this is what is being experienced.

 

@Lexie - Interpret as him jokingly saying take advantage of this *bug* to instantly be god mode by editing the offline save files, since that's actually possible and you don't need to necessarily play in offline to know that this exists. He is not saying that he has done this/intends to do this or confirming that this works.

 

@Lexie It's basically just a visual, no skills crossed over. It just cleared my online skills that were pinned that i was working on. and displayed the skills i had gained while on the offline character. throws you off. but no unfair advantage or anything at play.
