Details:I got the quest from Farmer Filmor. Killed a few Betas, then an alpha appeared. I killed him. No quest items with him. Suddenly, a second Alpha appeared. From this one I received the items ...

Steps to Reproduce:
Got the quest, found the lair of the wolves. Killed a few Betas with bow, while running around. Alpha wolf one appeared. Killed him. Got leather. Next Alpha came with quest items.

Details: Have already completed the quest on live. I tell farmer "Alpha" no gift, but recognizes I( killed the wolf

Like I said earlier, "Should be in an upcoming update." But yes, it's the same thing.

 

I encountered the same as Sean Silverfoot this evening with build 589QA with my primary character. I'd done the alpha wolf quest two releases ago. The farmer recognized that I'd completed the quest. However, a quest item turn-in window opened up, with the farmer expecting the head of the alpha wolf-- which I don't have. Repeated clicking or typing of "alpha" resulted in the generic message about hoping THE alpha wolf was killed and not AN alpha wolf.

I then went in with my second account character. I'd yet to do the alpha quest with this one. I received two quests from the farmer-- one for the head, and one for the collar. The alpha wolf yielded both, and I completed both quests as expected.
