    Im gonna use this thread to post all info, im not going in 50 place.

    We can't write to file, can't use debug info for directory path (for require), and there a tremendous amount of bug to fix in the client. Functions arent working, etc.

    Use the /debug function in game to see what is the error
    You probably didnt create teh folder in the correct place, it will show where its searching for

    Thanks. It appears that the file needs to be named BootStrap.lua, not bootstrap.lua.

    [edit] Still doesn't work and here's the reason:
    FileNotFoundException: Could not find file "/home/xxxx/Desktop/Apps/SotA_QA/Lua\BootStrap.lua"

    [edit2] I got it to load by renaming the lua file to Lua\BootStrap.lua and placing it in the same folder as the executable. That's a pretty ugly hack though.

    Sadly, I have limited time with development this weekend and I'm spending it trying to get CS stuff going and trying to figure out the mystery of that stupid ice field.

    @Chris Okie dokie, I think I've passed my LUA 101 course based on what's been exposed. Crashed my client a few times as a rite of passage.

    Feature Request:

    Please open up the scene, X, Y, and Z information so my quest helper can be a possibility.​

    Note: Not requesting that the ability to move in any direction be exposed -- I figure the reason location wasn't put into the first cut was for botting protection.

    Background:

    I had an idea to trigger messages when players were standing somewhere. I figured if all I have is a text box and properties, I could probably rig up a Quest Helper as long as I could determine the X, Y, Z, and scene of a player. Just check if the player is +/- 5 meters from a location and text message would appear.

    Then, just to make it a bit more robust, let the player cast a hiding spell that makes the player not visible at a location in order for them to overhear a conversation that would appear in a text box. I.e., check for location + Basically, the LUA interface can be used to create a quest that has a lot more interaction with it.​

    I figure the following properties can be used to help improve a quest-like experience:

    Stealth (overhearing a conversation...)
    Strength ("Only the mighty can lift this rock!")
    PlayerScale (Use a grow potion to trigger something else in the script to say you triggered a pressure plate.)
    Intoxication ("Hey buddy, buy me a drink will ya?")
    Skill Levels for Crafting ("Aha, a fellow artisan! Let me tell you about my latest creation!")​

    No idea-- from all the functions I've looked at and all that's been discussed, I'm not seeing any way to read a window or execute a regular / slash command. All good ideas for feature requests. Right now, the implementation is bare minimum and I'm just trying to figure out some creative uses for it even at this stage. :)

    In stream atos show a way to get text from chat box and parse it in lua window output. You can use the same way to get coordinate

    I'm kinda disappointed in the limitations of moonsharp. In order to achieve most of the things I'm really interested in, I need to be able to talk to a file, socket, or pipe.
    I'm really hoping @Chris can make at least one of those things happen as part of round one.

    I agree after reading moonsharp doc it seem to be pretty straight forward... It really all depend on what atos give us for possibility and all. He could always create some read write function for files and let us use that within a specific directory and give us a directory path with unity so we can use requires.

    What scare me the most right now is the inability to use different mods. We need a mods manager, eventually an auto-updater. We can make both ourself in lua and let atos integrate it for everyone in game but all we need it is the 2 things above.

    There should be a way to write a basic `HandleConsole(type, player, message)` wrapper and wait for the player to request a /loc.

    There will eventually be more exposed, hopefully a fully formed Player table for all the info that is not a Stat. This is just a test draft of LUA after all.

    /loc in the chat window gives location information in the chat logs.
