As an original backer, I was aware of the option of Oculus Rift support being considered and then discounted as a stretch goal. The decision to focus on gameplay, rather than cater for a niche market was one that I agreed with. However, as a self confessed 3D stereoscopic addict, I had been hoping that the Unity game engine used for SOTA could provide an option for 3d Vision users, or other versions of stereoscopy in the fullness of time. I understand that Unity version 4.5 theoretically makes that possible. For me 3D stereo has become such an integral part of the immersive experience in 3D games, that I no longer play 3D in 2D, as it were. It's like going from colour back to black and white. I'd appreciate any feedback as to whether the option for 3D stereo with further options for depth and convergence settings would be included in the commercial release version of SOTA.
