Material bonus: Carapacian bolt vs Fustian bolt

Before the recent changes:

• carapcian gave a bonus to spell crit chance (0.2% per bolt) and the same focus boost as cotton (1.0%)
  
• fustian gave a bonus to focus: 1.5% per bolt (0.5% better than cotton)

Carapacian was generally considered the better choice. (You cant increase spell crit chance with masterwork/enchant but you can pick up lots of focus via masterwork/enchant, so get the crit chance were you can!)

After these changes:

• carapcian gives double the bonus to spell crit chance (0.4% per bolt) AND 1.5% focus per bolt (.05% better than cotton)
  
• fustian gives a bigger bonus to focus (1.0% per bolt better than cotton)

Now carapcian gives even more spell crit chance and you get a focus boost on top of it!!!


That's too much vs fustian.

• Maybe consider giving fustian
  • a 0.2% bonus to spell crit chance per bolt (half what you get from carapcian)
  • and .1% spell crit chance on fustian straps (compared to the 0.2% spell crit chance on carapacian straps)
• Or consider removing the focus boost on carapacian (Setting it back down to 1.0% per bolt like normal cotton)

 

A little more info:

With the current changes a full set of carapacian epic cloth gives

• 11.6% spell crit chance
• 40.5% focus

By contrast a full set of fustian epic cloth gives

• 54.8% focus

The extra 15.5% focus on fustian is maybe going to result in an extra 80 focus?
80 focus vs 11.6% additive spell crit chance isn't very competitive

 

Should add spell damage to fustian... keeps inline with most other options in the game dmg vs crit.
