The pop up "tutorial" or hint needs work.

It tells me to press "T" to go into attack mode
It also tells me to double click the target if I have auto attack on and to hold the left button if it is not.
What it does not mention is I have to press the "Z" button to actually go into a combat stance with weapons drawn.

This is from someone who played a little before and stopped playing for a couple months.

You should still double-click the target if you're in free-attack mode, because that gives you the UI panel of your target (health, focus, buffs, debuffs, etc).

Or you could just press G and cycle through targets.

T is to engage auto attack, Z pulls out your weapon. Everytime "for now" you pull out your weapon you need to reactivate auto attack. Using the tab button and moving your mouse to the top right corner will give you some options. One of which explains some of the buttons.
