Mining

Hello all

I have been trying to get my Avatar to mine but cannot get him to do it. I have pick ax and I am wearing a mask.
He won't mine in combat or peace mode. What do I have to do to get him to mine? Is it the mask? I am wearing one I received as a gift I think. Where do you get masks?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

masks are not needed (yet) Make sure the axe is "equipped'
to do this go to inventory Right click on ax and equip
friend me on-line and I will help anytime.

 

There are specific ore nodes, You can not mine anywhere

 

Are you certain you're located a metal 'node' such as iron or copper? These are quite small, you can't mine at every rock face.

 

Thank you all for your reply. when you say equip the ax, should it be in his hand ? I tried but it won't go. It does say equipped on the ax though.
Also if there is nothing to mine, will I get a message stating so? Or does a Node just show up when there is something there?
