Multiplayer to Single/Friends Mode

Perhaps it is just me...
But I find the new way to switch from multiplayer to single or friends mode non productive.

Before this release I was able to choose my mode before login.
Now I must log in to the game and then change to the mode I want to be in.

I usually use multiplayer mode but sometimes I need to play with myself.
When I want to switch modes the whole thing has to restart.

It seems as if this would use more server resources than the old way of choosing before login.

 

It's a bit awkward to start. After that it's AWESOME!

 

Not sure I understand.
How is it better than being able to choose at the start?
Did I miss something or is there a better way to use this?

 

You can change the mode before logging in, just use the options tab, check what mode is set, Change as you like and login.
If you choose to switch while online -> Options, choose your mode and load.
