[Need More Info] Bard Songs and Interaction with scene items

    Title: Bard Song and interaction with scene items
    Reproduction Rate: 100%

    Details: When you cast a bard song and then try to interact with a scene item (IE: Torch/Lantern) it locks the "Using skill" timer to the base time it takes to cast the Bard Song before you can use the item. With any Bard Song casting reduction skill, the song has been sung and you have to wait to interact with the item.

    Steps to Reproduce: Using a high skill level of Rythmic Readiness and cast a song, then immediately attempt to light a lantern in a scene. (I caught this bug in Etceter Crag Mines)

    This sounds intended; while the song timer bar is filling to execute the song, you cannot interact with world items, which is consistent with other skills with a timer, such as summoning an elemental. If you think this should be changed, please use the "AskaDev" feature in Universal Chat or post in the Wishlist forum.

    This is a different thing. If e.g. Atonal Aria take 10 seconds to cast with no modifiers, you spend 10sec casing and then can do whatever. But if you cut down that time with Rhythmic Readiness, Wyvern Egg Salad, Spellbinder's Stance, etc, you might be able to cast it in e.g 6.5 seconds.

    The bug is that you still have to wait the full 10 seconds before making certain interactions, or dropping your combat deck. So there's a 3.5 second (using the example numbers above) where you should be able to interact with scene items, or drop combat, but cannot. Even with the new 6.5 seconds cast time, you're still locked out for the full 10 seconds.

    @Coswald_Dirthmire Thanks for the additional info. I will try reproducing this with food; I had tried with RR at 100 but didn't notice any delay.

    The only time I've noticed it myself is when using a cast time modifier such as Spellbinder's Stance or Chaotic Feedback, especially in the context of trying to drop combat. It's a bit hard to tell since the 'dead time' so to speak is short, but it seems casting another spell will break the lock-out. So for instance casting a heavily-cast-time-modified Savage Sonata then immediately casting Mind Lock (fast cast, short animation) I can immediately drop combat, and the overall process seems a bit faster.

    So my random stab-in-the-dark guess is that something in the code is basically assuming a normal animation length, and Mind Lock can be used for animation canceling. Incidentally, you can't start an emote in that dead time either.

    I think you're barking up the wrong tree with Rhythmic Readiness personally. I have only seen it with cast time modifiers such as Spellbinder's Stance or Chaotic Feedback

    I tried spellbinders stance and didn’t see it either. I just tried with chaotic feedback and spellbinder's stance, and still can't reproduce this. My skill levels are:
    Spellbinder Stance: 84
    Chaotic Feedback: 45
