Title: Norgard Fens - Sunset Visible Through 'Tree Curtain'
    Reproduction Rate: 100%
    Blocker? No
Details: The sun is quite visible through the tree curtain border thingy at the edges of the scene. Not just a glare, but you can clearly see the outline of the sun right through a tree. (Not showing that well in the screenshot below. More visible live.)
Steps to Reproduce: Look at the border trees when the sun is behind them.

that means you have volumetric lighting on. do you have shadows on? it is only supposed to be used with shadows. there's supposed to be a check to disable it if shadows are off.

Yes. I have Shadows to Maximum and Volumetric Lighting checked. But should the sun itself be visible through tree trunks?

no, because it SHOULD be blocked by the shadow of the treecurtain.

okay, no amount of jiggling my settings can get the volumetric lighting to show without shadows showing, for me. the game DOES stop rendering shadows individually when there are too many/too much other stuff to render, but that seems unlikely here and with your specs.

this is not gonna be scene-specific. please post again if you find some combination of toggling checkboxes that reliably makes the volumetric lighting show but the shadows not.
