New Character Path Choice

I just started a new character and through answering the questions, was placed on the path of truth as a mage. The oracle said if i wanted to use a bow (or be a ranger) to let it know and I would be given that skillset instead. I spoke to it saying 'bow' and saying 'ranger', three or four times to be sure but when I started, I was dropped into blood river with skill points in fire magic and almost nothing in bow.

Fire - 60 pts
Healing - 30 points
Sun - 25 points

Bow - 5 points
Other weapons and light armor - 5

Doesn't sound like a ranger (bow) class to me. Additionally when speaking to the oracle about 'bow' or 'ranger' it would simply say, "We will speak of these things after you arrive." or something to that effect. Otherwise it said nothing at all.

I did not try this by changing from any other path or to any other path so I do not know if all switches are affected. This was strictly changing from chosen mage path to ranger path.
