Not letting me skin wolves

Was killing along in deep ravens wood when all the sudden about 1/2 of my wolf corpse pile it would not let me skin. I got the skinning knife to come up, but when I clicked E to skin nada.

 

this is usually server lag or desync, it should let you skin them after a short wait. Also you now have to be within a certain range of them when they are killed or you get no exp and can't skin them.

 

bah, false alarm. skinning knife broken. Really need something more observable for this scenario

at least like change the icon to have a red circle over it or something, even better play some sound like a broken item.
