NPC merchants

should the merchants with limited item quantities (eg. fruits and veg) instantly restock their items the next time you click them?

it seems like maybe they are supposed to only have a certain amount and restock daily or some other timing - otherwise what is the pint of the (#) beside the item?

if that is the intent then they are broken - because right now (say 5 of them were all they had for sale), I can buy all 5 items, then I can end the conversation and click them again right away and they have 5 more of that same item for sale.
