Obsidian coin drops since inception

I thought it would be interesting to find out how many coins have been dropped to you since the drop program was started. I have kept my coins (which have retail value) separate, and have done all my transactions from other non-valued coin. Thus the total in that pile represent all the drops I have gotten to date. That total is now 5907 coins.

I have been tracking drops of the new COTOs 3/6/2019. My data isn't perfect, but...

Game wide
COTOs dropped 45,040 times out of 8,093,826 kills. 0.5% of all kills game wide.

1,215,675 COTOs (the new variant) have dropped for an average of 26 COTOs when they do drop. About 5.5% of all COTOs spent in the store are from in-game drops.

Due note that COTO’s comes from mining, skinning and creature loot.

I believe the number of COTO’s found in the api is only a number that were found in a scene, and they can come from various ways, not specifically creature loot drops.
