Oh Where Could The Pine Bark Be?

OK, I give up!

Is there any reasonably quick-ish way to get a pile of pine bark?

I heard a rumor (from sotawiki) about a pine bark recipe but cannot for the life of me find where the vendor is... no longer in Etceter or Xenos that I could find. (If the pine bark recipe is a real thing.)

API has been down for days...

Just wanna make some dyes sheesh...

It comes from chopping pine trees. I don't think you can craft pine bark.

 

you can no longer get bark from milling, for quite a long while now. you either chop trees or you buy it.

Thanks all! Yes.. I know you get it from pine trees. But also wondering where a high concentration of pine trees might be.

It's definitely not either of the "pinelands"

Heading to the Shardfall now.. (easily accessible from Rat's Nest I see)

The Pinelands (and Sawtooth Thicket) are the only scenes I know of with all pine trees (besides Verdantis Shardfall and I haven't tried there). Unfortunately, bark is rare-ish, so just depends how luck you. However, I may have a bunch of it if you are interested, I don't make dyes..hit me up

 

Crag Foothills has Pine - all Scenes in Drachvald are Pine - there is no maple in Drachvald Region!
The Pinelands are fine to get Pine Tree Barks. I need them to make Grey Dye!

 

OK- So I filed this as a bug report.

I spent over an hour in the North Naryad Pinelands... 8 barks.
Another 30 minutes or so in the South Naryad Pinelands... 0 barks and hardly any pine trees.
(Yes I realize these are clones.)
Went over to Paladis Shardfall- after 30 minutes came up with 2 more. Eventually got ran out by a reaper and two obsidian golems.

Thank you for the offer @ldykllr ! I'd be happy to take them off your hands- however given their extreme rarity I don't think I'm quite prepared to pay market value! lol

Clearly- these should be easier to come by and/or the dye recipes should call for less of them. Kinda reminds me of the carrots...

 

well 8 barks is good to make 2 dyes of grey

 

Ahhh so Drachvald is all pine? I *bow* to your gathering knowledge.

Gonna go pull that report back down and do another test run.

 

the north and south pinelands are three-skull, i believe. you may not be able to get them (much) from lower tier nodes.

 

Try Sirens Foothils, South Hulenholt and West Vauban Foothills, all T4 and all with Pine only!

 

I've tried all of these, and unfortunately haven't come up with one additional bark. South Hulenholt is 3 skull. The other two are clones with hardly any trees at all.

EDIT: North Hulenholt is a 4 skull. Unfortunately, it also has maple.

EDIT2: All in all today, I've collected 94 wood, 19 resin, and 13 bark. Pretty sure the resin should be more rare than the bark.

 

This is one of the main reasons why it frustrates me that people sell dyes for cheap. It takes a LOT of work to get barks.
