    Hello everyone!!
Old UO and Ultima (Commodore 64) player here. While ago I pledge $ Ancestor since it fits me LOL. Do to my schedule I was unable to join the open access to test out the game as it is growing (and I am catching up reading the forums).
    So I have questions.
Will there be classes? Such as Druids, Tinkers, Mages, Rogues, etc?
Are there going to be factions? Us versus them?
Since we can own towns/villages/cities; do we have to defend them? Can we attack them or defend them if so? Can we build siege weapons? Can our homes be robbed (UO flashbacks).
Can we custom build our own homes or boats (or other mounts)?
Will there be other means of travel like flying?
Can we grow crops, reagents, and livestock? Have our own mine (iron, silver, gold, etc)?
Will there be weather effects and will they be severe enough to effect game play or just cosmetic?

I have more questions, but I will save them for later.

Thank you so much and wish you all well.

    Welcome to the community!

    - There will be no classes
    - Currently there are no factions
    - Attack/Defense scenarios for player-0wned towns has been talked about but uncommitted
    - Currently there are no burglary skills to steal from people or homes
    - No custom house building but they're aware of it and may add it in later episodes
    - Only means of travel will be by boats/ferries that you can't control that take you automatically from POI to POI, but there is a stretch goal to allow player control
    - There may be other means of auto-travel in later episodes, such as perhaps hot air balloons but those are uncommitted
    - Regarding agriculture, the only thing we have currently are potted plants we need to water
    - You will not be able to own your own mine to harvest ore
    - There will be weather (and seasons) and they will have an effect on game play (not just cosmetic), as that as one of the goals met during the Kickstarter

@smack is of course right but a few additions might be nice.

Even though it is a class-less system, there are dev talk about different base types.
That means that you are free to spend your skill points in whatever skill tree you like, there are some paths that are similar to a class.
The example given by the devs was a Druid would be someone who do elemental magic (earth air water fire) then they had a name for the other square (death life sun moon) but I don't recall.
Some things are also covered with the combo system where you combine glyphs into better glyphs, like some death+fire spells etc.

When it comes to agriculture it is in the game, as @smack said there are potted plants but there are also these garden lanes which is exemplified in Ardoris. These will be available as crafted items to be placed on your lots next to the houses, or in some cases in lieu of houses. They will also be in NPC towns. There is a tool for this - the hoe.
In their YouTube channel you can find @RichardGarriot talking about different agriculture, producing food, dyes and reagents.

They want livestock but that is out of scope for E1.

Regarding factions, at minimum there will be PvP guilds and PvP scenes so there will be guildwars.

To add a little more.. while I don't recall an official statement off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure town owners can flag their towns as PvP zones? I don't think at this time that player owned towns will be subject to NPC sieges.

As Starr is fond of saying.. the only constant is change. We're still several months out so there's still a few things that can change or haven't even been decided yet.

I was always jealous of my C64 friends because they could play Ultima IV with awesome music, but my Apple ][e needed a sound card for the awesome music. :(

I remember the days of the Commodore 64 and Vic 20. Those were the days of wonder with dreams of potential.
