Only KS backers get alt character slots?!

Why did this not roll out for everyone?

 

@Zaphrel it was a pledge tier (IIRC on kickstarter) above a specific amount of backing only

they said that they will make it purchaseable in Add-On Store in the future

 

I have not checked yet, but it should have been explorer level pledge and above, based on what I saw on a long ago post (and was reason I updated to explorer from artisan)

 

Would have made more sense to roll that out now. I don't mind buying the slots, I want to support the game.

 

It takes work to add in an interface to add names on request. The pledge people were already in the database and easily added with a script. I would not be surprised to see this go online next month.

 

The additional character slots were available for a certain pledge level after the KS period. This offer expired though in late 2015.

 

Was there not talk of purchasing character slots from the add on store at one time? Also, I see little advantage in the pledge reward character slots. I think one would be better to just purchase another base account for another character. You are not tied to all things associated with your main account.

 

I was really irked in the Kickstarter to see that getting more than one character slot was a pledge level (and not a cheap one). In UO I had at least 2 characters regularly.

But I found once playing SotA that I'd probably never use a second character; I'd just upskill the first.
