Opening gates with bow equipped still fires arrows

Contra the R27 notes, attempting to open the inbound from West side gate on the new Superstition Pass control point results in firing an arrow on each of the 3 'bashes'. This is worse than R26, when it only did this on the last of the 3, and animated a fist hit on the first two.

Reproduced this on south gate of Eastreach Gap, but even worse: First two strikes on gate fired arrows, the third wouldn't work at all until I switched to a blade weapon. No dialog in chat box, no thing. The 'fix' isn't.
