Was merely trying to show the different ways Unity can be used, my apologies.

No problem on my end. :) At least there are a couple of examples showing unity with isometric views.

I think it would have resolved a lot of the GFX issues people seem to find in the current state, and I also think it would be a great homage to the spiritual succession of the older (both UO and Ultima series) games.

How would a fixed camera angle fix GFX issues people are having with SotA?

It's not about the camera angle being fixed, its about the distance from the scene. If the camera was overhead isometric, it would be a lot easier to get away with lower resolution models and textures.

That being said, an isometric camera would have to have been part of the initial design, it will never work as an added on feature. Why? because the game is balanced based off of how much you can see, and an isometric view automatically limits what is visible onscreen. Other characters and creatures would be aware of you long before you ever saw them come into view isometrically.

I would never use it... makes it look too much like Star Craft...

Thank's to everyone else for posting those video clips, they made me really appreciate what I'm getting with SotA much more, thank's...

As I said in another thread about this, all you need do is zoom your camera out and never change it, unless you go into a building, then you need to zoom back in and walk, don't run...
