Can you use /bug to get more information on your system? Then go to this thread and Command-V to paste the clipboard into a new message. Here is the relevant information from my MacBook Pro:

    User Specs:
    OS: Mac OS X 10.9.5
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2760QM CPU @ 2.40GHz (8) System RAM: 16384
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6770M OpenGL Engine GPU RAM: 1024
    SotA.EarlyAccess.OSX.64.538.Date.01.10.17

The game has had problems with double-clicking at low frame rates (below 10-15 or so) due to (apparently) only processing one UI event per GPU frame, and having a low double-click threshold. I gave up and used the E key all the time once they added it. I forgot how bad it was, and still is.

When my /debug said my frame rate was about 8fps, I was unable to double click on my door or window shutters. Then I turned my camera to face the door (to remove stuff from my view) and got about 9fps and it worked intermittently. When I zoomed in and made sure as little as possible was in my view, I got 11fps and had very few problems operating a window shutter.

So I suspect that your frame rate is the source of the problem. The cutoff seems to be around 10fps, which is 100ms per frame.
