    Hello all,

Providing feedback on overland encounters and a mechanic I see as pretty unfair.

    1. See enemy encounter on the road ahead
    2. Intentionally go into the wilderness to avoid it - Let's face it... 2 loading screens for an encounter that contains a few mobs that I could care less about is not worth it.
    3. Mob sees me - and makes a B-line straight for me - through the wilderness - at full speed

So my question is... if I get slowed down in the wilderness... why don't the bandits? Skeletons? Wolves - Ok I'll give you those... But humanoid biped creatures not being slowed by the wilderness seems a bit off to me.

    Just my opinion.

    Thanks for reading,

Tip to devs: Don't slow down the overworld encounter mobs. Speed us up to full speed all the time.

    Not joking.

I am also not a fan of the slowdown on the overworld map... but it's been there for a while so either the community doesn't mind it or the dev team simply isn't going to change it... so I figure just work around it. :)

Annoying is a kind word for encounters.
Why on earth should we be slowed down by moving between the trees on the overworld, when we are not slowed running between them in scenes ???

Fleet Flute + Coconuts = ZOOM ZOOM. Haven't had to put up with this BS since. I 100% support any change making it MUCH harder for you to be thrown into an overland encounter you DO NOT want any part of.

I use light armor and invested in the Swiftness skill. I can usually avoid overland encounters by starting my veer away from their path early enough; if one starts too late, they will catch up.

This strategy may even work w/ non Swiftness skilled avatars... the point being that it is not so difficult to avoid these w/ a little mindfulness to the matter.

That would be great... if I had Fleet Flute.

I have 80 in swiftness. It helps, sometimes. Coconuts help sometimes too... but then again one is slowed when using those as well.... soooo...

Doesn't discount the fact that a bipedal humanoid has no business going full speed through the wilderness no matter who they are. If I can't do it, neither should they!

I've searched high and low for a vendor selling a Fleet Flute to no avail. :(
