Poison Weapon Flops

    The skill Poison Weapon
    Tree Subterfuge

    Requires a 200g poison weapon potion (Craftable)
    On Use, the combat buff, poisons your weapon, using the potion,

    Gives you a buff that does +5 Poison Damage
    FOR ONLY FIFTEEN SECONDS

    200g, 5 damage, 15 seconds

    Wow, can I get a refund on my Skill points please
    10 for trip, 1 for poison weapon.

    I feel this skill is under powered, under loved, and a waste

    If it was either way more damage, or way more duration, maybe even an out of combat buff, you poison your weapons before you go into combat not during. Then it would be worth skill points and gold, otherwise, complete waste.

    This is my feedback, and opinion, as such, go away trolls

    Have to say that i'm not overly keen on the way poisoning currently works.......albeit it has only just appeared in game so its certainly a move in the right direction.

    Rather than the skill letting you hit poison for 'x' amount of seconds and using up a poison potion, I would much prefer the UO mechanism where you use the poisoning skill to poison a weapon that then has 'x' number of poison uses/strikes. The poison on the weapon would deteriorate and disappear completely the more it was used.

    This would also have the added bonus of facilitating crafting by being able to sell poisoned weapons. You could have different levels of poison based upon Alchemy and the number of uses on the weapon could be based on the poisoning skill.

    I like @Envy 's poison system. Used to play in this mud where it would work this way so would only use throwaway daggers and swords.

    I think I'll skip this talent for now, the Ignite weapon is cheaper at 50g per reagent for 15 seconds of fire effects.

    I agree, at the moment poisoning is a waste of time....especially at the expense of 200g per poison. Maybe allow the use of venom sacs from spiders to craft poison instead of expensive reagents? Would make spiders worth while killing/looting rather than just being a massive PITA as they are now and significantly lower the cost of poison.

    It is actually working without the poison pots at the moment btw. A bug but a happy one.

    Well this is nice for now, for testing of the skill purposes, but the original opinion would still stand considering that bug will be fixed, but cheers for this, i can resume using the skill points that were previously wasted.

    I think it should work using a half time decay system
    So you applied it and got a +X bonus
    after Y seconds the bonus was down to +X/2

    you could refresh it early to keep the bonus high but that costs resources

    200 GP lol same thing it costs me for 100 arrows .... everything is too darn expensive for my liking.... likw 1500 gp for safe passage thru control points... that is so insane ..... 100 gp would be better, since as an archer money for me is hard to maintain...
