Port Phoenix community site launched

    Greetings Avatars,

    As of yesterday the official website for Port Phoenix launched and can be found at http://www.portphoenix.com/. Port Phoenix is a player owned town in shroud of the Avatar who's objective is to be a bustling center for trade, crafting and all manners of commerce. Whether you are interested in becoming a citizen or just want to stop by to interact, I welcome you all to stop by and say hello :)

    Port Phoenix is not a guild or a guild project. It is a personal project of my own wherein all are welcome. We wish to be a center for roleplay and social activity as well, and have already designed a plethora of community events throughout each year which we will have such as the Founders Day Parade, Admiral's Day Cookout, and the Winter Festival of the 77 Stars. Information about each will be posted soon as well as more information about city events and its citizenry. :)

    We will also be openly seeking other player towns and guilds in which to collaberate events and establish trade agreements. Some of which we are already reaching out to for this and others are forthcoming.

    I hope to see some interest here, and I certainly cannot wait to see everyone in New Britannia!

    Looks great! What size settlement? Town? Or was that just the general usage you were indicating. How will you incorporate players with different lot sizes?

    Port Phoenix is, at the moment, a holdfast and i will be upgrading to a Hamlet most likely. If Portalarium allows us to upgrade post launch, I will continue to grow the town so long as the interest in the town and its people hold together and grow. Should that happen, I have no problem and am in a position to continue to upgrade the twon ad nauseum. As for players with different lot sizes, we will start off with village and row lots in the initial design perhaps with a few other assorted lot sizes. The row houses will surround the center of the main trade part of the city and would make excellent spots for stores and the like. Meanwhile, the village and other lots will be closer to the cities walls or outside the city walls. I suspect the city's plots out of the walls will be perfect for farmland.

    We do not yet have a map, mostly because we're really close to upgrading to Hamlet, and the extra space hasn't been decided upon yet. We'll have a map once we're closer to launch.

    Its a bit unfair to be asking about maps for player towns, that being as most wont make it into any of the test builds any time soon and no matter who shows you a map of their town while the devs will try to meet that nothing is going to be exact.

    With that being said we have worked on some "ideas, drafts, templates" and any other keyword just to clarify this is NOT FINAL! and they can been seen in this section on our forums: http://www.portphoenix.com/forum/m/25371920/viewthread/14411886-early-map-art-final/page/1

    As sovereign of Port Phoenix I do greatly appreciate all of the support both from our townsfolk as well as supporters from otuside the town! The feedback, donations, positivity and activity has been truly inspiring.
