Is it possible to post photos in this forum that reside on one's hard disk? It looks to me like it is necessary to link to a photo which is hosted online somewhere. If this is the case, is there a recommended photo hosting service?

Or Google Drive, Dropbox, SkyDrive, Norton Zone, etc.

Thanks, I do already have a SkyDrive account, though I've hardly ever used it.

I personally like photobucket for hosting my images.

I am hoping that someone can help me out with this photo uploading business. I couldn't figure out how to upload a screenshot into a forum post from SkyDrive. I also had a Dropbox account (never used though), but couldn't figure out that, either. There is an option to share the pic, but it generates a link to send by email. That link, when inserted into the "Insert Image" dialog of the forum, doesn't work. I'm hoping that someone can give me instructions :(

Yeah, the Media link on the forums won't work with shared links -- they need to be public links for Dropbox. So put the image you want in your Public folder (or a folder underneath that) and copy the Public Link.

I finally got it to work - with Imageshack. I tried to make a public folder with Dropbox, but I couldn't figure out how to make a public folder. New folders are automatically private, and it was only possible to "share" them by entering the contacts or email addresses of people I want to share them with. Imageshack made it easy. Thank you all for the help.

Looks like the image is broken? Instead of using the Insert Media link, try just pasting the URL.

Thank you, smack. It actually did work correctly, but I removed the screenshot from the online hosting site again, since it was only a test screenshot and I don't need it. That's why there is only an image placeholder in my above post.
