Is there a place to go to evaluate what a good vendor price on an object is?

Say, for example, I come across a gold ingot a vendor is selling for 100gp. How do I know if this is a fair price? Is there a resource that calculates items within the game's economy?

Not that I know of, but here's some tips from my too large and unweildy spreadsheet (I'm trying to get it into a more manageable system, at that point it may be shareable.)

Usually people don't buy ingots because they get the XP from smelting them, but here's the value if Copper/Iron/Gold is 50, Silver 55. Copper and Iron use metal scraps to cut the ore use in half, that's why they cost less.

    Copper & Iron: 131g
    Gold: 207
    Silver: 227

Wood uses scraps as well, both are about 30g right now, so Timber is 62, a board is 32, a pole is 140.

    High end ingots:
Bronze: 774 (unless you find cheap tin)
    Constantan: 434
    Meteoric: 626
    White Iron: 796

    Coil of Copper Wire: 268
    Coil of Iron Wire: 268
    Coil of Bronze Wire: 1554
    Coil of Constantan Wire: 874
Coil of Meteoric Iron Wire: 1307
Coil of White Iron Wire: 1598

    Copper Binding: 68
    Iron Binding: 68
    Bronze Binding: 390
    Constantan Binding: 220
    Meteoric Iron Binding: 316
    White Iron Binding: 401
    Copper Sheet: 398
    Iron Sheet: 398
    Bronze Sheet: 2327
    Constantan Sheet: 1307
    Meteoric Iron Sheet: 1883
    White Iron Sheet: 2393

Thank, I was using gold as an example. But It looks like folks just keep a spreadsheet on things, eh?

    BTW BMC priceguide.
Would be nice if you could slap the last change date on it again. Without it it's pretty much worthless (to me ^^).
