Probably stupid but having a problem.

So i went to join my friend today in the new outskirt earlier so i partied him and teleported to him we partied up so i could find him but we werent in the same instance or something. We were both in multiplayer but couldnt find eachother either in the outskirts or in the overworld map. Is there a way to fix this without going to friend only mode?

 

It might help if you leave the instance/map and then one person enters with the second following by clicking on the special player crest icon on the world map.

 

We didnt even see the crest but that was tried.

 

One of you probably needs to patch.

This happens if one has updated say a hotfix (which is coming out like every 2 hours after release) and the other hasnt. Even if in same mode/same zone .. who ever is in an older version wont be with other players. Check for updates ( always a lot of them following releases.)

 

that might make sense, he had been on for a while when i updated and joined so he must have had an older client.

 

Sounds like one of you had a more current version like above poster said. Whoever' version # is lower just needs to exit and run the launcher.
