I will be editing this and adding them as I remember them.

Just found this out; currently there is a cap of 126 summoning to limit pets. Combat training and tame spec is added after and is uncapped. There is no way of knowing this unless you do testing yourself. Players should be warned somehow of this limit. It could lead to a lot of confusion. Also when lvling Combat training, the tooltip is off because it seems to be rounded. It works at every 4 lvl even though at the 3rd lvl it goes up on the tooltip and 4th lvl after and consecutively. So at 107 it says +X but its actually at 108 that you get that bonus.

This bug came in when they changed how targeting works in the game because noob players didnt understand why they had someone targeted but still healed a pet instead of their targets (was because their target was too far or behind a wall and they were looktargeting a pet:
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/f...-in-a-group-and-be-near-party-members.162645/
^This issue needs to be addressed. The targeting system before this was working as intended and forced players to play with skill and pay attention to what they were aiming and where their target was. The changes didnt fix the problem. If they attempt to heal someone who is behind a wall or too far, instead of hitting a pet now, it will just hit the closest player. Adding more bugs into the game because the game can seem too hard has been continously happening and it needs to stop. More bugs for NO CHANGES. And this bug is a PERFECT EXAMPLE.

What does "Obedience" passive do? What does "-% Tame level health modifier" even mean? This stat is also on the artifact "Belt of Control" and I am under the assumption that it simply help raise the bar to get easier tame % when attempting to tame an animal. But the description is way to cryptic on what it does.

Pets, tamed and summoned, are currently not working in PVP anymore unless their are attacked. This broke when the changes to the summoned pet were changed and always seem to reset their names and stance.

    First off, the reaction time;
-If set on aggressive and multiple mobs, pet will attempt to return to owner (if set to follow) before selecting another target and wastes easily up to 5 seconds (depending on ping with host) before acquiring new target. Even when set to "stay here" pet will still stay still for a few secs before acquiring new target.
Solution: Have the pet acquire more than 1 target in a list of at least 3 targets, when first is dead, immediately switch to next target instead of resetting.

-Commands (attack target) also are not instant; problem unknown.
    Solution: unknown

    Range of "attack target" function seems to differ when pet is set on passive, defensive or aggressive;
-Longest range seems to be passive, when set to aggressive we also require line of sight it seems
Solution: set the same values for "attack target" as the passive presets for defensive and aggressive.

Lack of information on differing pets
-Some pets seem to move at different speeds, have differing special attacks and defensive capabilities.
Solution: Pet stat window next to taming necklace when opening character sheet with detailed descriptions or hidden values which can be discovered as you kill more and more mobs with said pet; this will require more record keeping but would be a better choice and more immersive with said pet.

    Speed of pet (movement)
-Pets are simply too slow and cant even keep up with their avatar master, even with helm of the stag and pet speed training passive really high and taming spec at/over 120, tamed pets just cant keep up with ANYTHING. Young dragons seems to be an exception since they fly and are ranged. (Especially in PvP, capping pet speed training just doesn't cut it, it makes the whole tree useless in PvP just because of how SPEED is too IMPORTANT and OVERPOWERED in PvP.)
Solution: double/triple/quadruple the effectiveness of the "tame move speed" modifier to give more incentive to the use of taming artifacts and the passive.

-Pet death; resurrection timer seems to be too low for some players; I like this since its my business (1 of my main sources of income) selling pets but I hear a lot of complaints about it and could be a good QoL change to do this solution.
Solution: Add another usefulness to the REFRESH passive; make it extend the resurrection timer. (Currently, there is no use to raise it over 120 which gives 100% refresh timer reduction.)

Pet Taunt is craptastic. Please revisit how DoTs/Hots and aggro works in the game. The only viable pet tank in this game is the ones applying poison because of how aggro works with them. Pet taunt just doesnt work without it if the pet master is using DoTs. Somehow aggro doesnt work well with them. Either fix aggro or quadruple buff the taunt skill.

If you have any problems with taming, please list them below and I will add them to the list, if this isn't the right forum/section for this, please move to preferred spot. ( Thanks @Elgarion :D )

I find the lack of interaction with my pets a big issue. It's click attack and then forget. Frenzy is kind of bleh. I'd like to see some skills we can use when we want for our pets. Taunt, intercept, different types of attack depending on pet etc.

Also there is a general lack of equipment for Tamers outside of artifacts. Unless I am missing something there is no armour or weapons with taming bonuses plus other bonuses like + stats, extra damage etc like the other skill trees have.

Attack target definitely does not work correctly. I swear it has gotten worse the last few weeks but it may be just acting differently since my pet has leveled a bit and has more aggro or based on the scenes I have been in recently.

When I send my pet to attack a target he usually ignores me (that part is not new) but recently he has been running off to target whoever is sending him the most aggro instead of who I send him in on. He doesn't switch to attack my target until that target starts attacking me.

Two examples where he constantly does this:
    1) Necropolis Barrens - I send him after the Envy Angel when there is a wisp anywhere nearby. He always chooses the wisp. He hates wisps.
    2) Ulfheim - There is an area where a reaper spawns somewhat near a high level wolf (usually ferocious arctic but varies). I stand far enough away from both that my boar doesn't automatically attack bases on being set to aggressive and as soon as I target the reaper and tell the boar to attack he runs at the wolf.

Also I wish the pets wouldn't go swim in the lava. And the nightmare should be able to swim in the lava and not die.

Yeah last night while using my Earth Elemental, I had to select attack target 8 times before the Elemental would finally start toward the target.

I feel like sometimes my pet has to think about it first, and sometimes I am too far, so I either send him to attack and wait, and if he doesn't go after 5 seconds, I get closer..

Honestly pet movement speed, decision making and obedience is trash. If my spider couldnt tank dragons and destroyers for me, she would get dumped at the bottom of a barrel and I would forget about her...

Pets lack a true escort mode. Depending on the proximity you set up for them, pets should make staying within that distance the priority - more than attacking or anything else.

I'd also like it if they could be ordered to defend someone else - like the healer in a party for instance. That would cut down on the need to micromanage.

My observation: when set to aggressive the pet will mostly ignore attack commands. I have to repeat them several times. If set to passive or defensive it will attack almost immediately.
I also have an issue buffing the pet with Dex. It does work if there are no enemies and friends nearby and the pet is selected and in front of me. If there are enemies nearby or party members the buff will just vanish.

Having your pet ACTUALLY do what you tell it to do (via the supposed options, like...oh...follow close,etc..) would make sense, right ?

Sadly, it has never worked that way - with any luck maybe this thread will get some traction.......

    We can hope, right ?

@Chris had touched on this topic once on a live stream. If i remember correctly, he looked into this issue and it has something to do with the pets AI and the change is more work then just a quick fix. He did not dismiss the issue but he gave no time frame on when the pet AI would be overhauled. My guess would be hopefully be by Ep2.

I usually hit the 9 key to tell the pet to stop attacking before hitting the 6 key to attack my target. Usually works.

Do you even know what Obedience does? It has nothing to do with that. -%tame level health modifier is only used when taming an animal, unless they changed something.

I can solo any dragon with the ferocious black arachnid. The issue is that the taunt sucks. Poison does better aggro because its a DoT. The issue with Aggro and DoTs and Taunt has already been bugged countless times and they havent even looked at it yet. But yea, taunt over 130 works pretty well but useless if you apply dots yourself, such as Rend or Puncture bleeds. The taunt effectiveness of pets is craptastic.

The biggest bug with pets are their damage.
Nightmares AOE critical hit at 2000 to 4000 dmg is now trivial

Nightmares are tamed at lvl79 tamed pet level but are 89... that is a bug they refuse to fix.... I wonder why....

Also I agree, they are definitely overpowered but its not a bug but their AoE should still be nerfed.

If I remember correctly, a big revamp will be made on pets & summons.

What do you all pair with your Taming skill? I haven't really found anything especially synergistic. Life not really as the pet heal is pretty good. Haven't tried Bard but it looks as though it might be pretty good. Other than that it just seems to be about DPS.
