What are you thoughts on what could make a fun, repeatable, PvP quest? The example frequently given in dev chats is the Contraband quest. You accept a quest to deliver contraband from one side of the continent to another. Other players get notified that there is an outlaw running contraband, and can stop him. This is a consentual high risk / high reward quest with impact on the character's "virtue stats."

This isn't the thread for full loot or open world pvp, but rather ideas for PvP quests that move away from the typical arena/battlegrounds that other games have.

    Here's one of mine:

A group of players accept a quest from a shady guy working for the "evil force" to weaken a city with the Tesla force field. The task is to dig your way underground and sabotage the city's power source for its forcefield. You'll need to grab a group of people to do this, including players that are skilled at Mining to speed up the digging process.

Other players walking nearby the town will get notified that something suspicious is going on in the hex next to the city. You can then enter the site and attempt to stop the group from succeeding. If no one stops them, the city's force field fails and the city becomes "under seige" like a village/town. The group gets a big negative "virtue" hit for working with the enemy.

This would be purely consentual, have a global impact (city unavailable until seige is broken), and requires crafters participation to be successful. I could see an Evil aligned guild created that would be experts at this, creating havok in all the cities by putting them in the seige condition. This guild would actually seem really "evil" by messing with everyone who uses those city services, and it fits within the storyline well.

I like the concept. But you don't need either side to play evil as well. e.g.
    1) Smuggling contraband vs attacking a helpless merchant caravan
    2) Freeing a "wrongly" imprisoned person from jail
    3) Robin Hood like stealing sheep to feed the hungry

All of these aren't really good or evil. It all depends on your point of view. Completing one may give you +100 rep with faction x and -100 rep with faction y. If you want to tie in the virtues, think of it just like the Ultima IV questions: +100 compassion, -100 Justice.

You could play these quests with other players, against other players or any combination. And you could make it 5v5 arena / battleground style if you want. Most battleground do actually have some story like this, people just choose to ignore them.
