So occasionally I see an item on a vendor that is orange. What does the orange signify?
    Thanks

I'd love to know this as well. Been playing since January and I'm still not sure what that means or how you even do that to an item.

It means that the item has undergone a name change, it was renamed to something other than the original name. It can happen when someone renames a bag or something similar.

It also happens when a pattern is applied to armor or weapons.

I'm sure there are probably other times it might turn orange, but those are the most common ones I know of.

Orange text on an item in an inventory (yours or a vendor's) usually indicates an item that has had a pattern applied to it. If you mouse over the item, a window should pop up that tells you what the pattern is (text in orange) and the base item whose appearance was modified.

Edit: Or, as @jiirc has noted, when something has been renamed, like a vendor or a summoning whistle for a pet.

Yes, it means the name was changed. We had a problem where people were renaming small bags with the names of valuable items and putting them for sale on vendors. That was the fix.
