That's not even remotly as terrible as some people expected.
Of course it's not final wipe time.

The main saltiness comes from the illusion that by preventing those in earlier groups from claiming the smaller lots will significantly improve the chance of getting the prime lots.

The dev guarantees that those who own lot deed from pledges and add-on store will able to claim a lot in NPC/PRT towns, but they did not promise that those who are in lower pledges will have 100% chance of getting a house in Brittany or Owl's Head.

    True.
But as I said already in another Post: i don't mind it. I never expected to get a lot in britanny anyway. On the other Hand: if the Rest of britanny makes it into the game chanes will get better.

    Smack, you're doing Gods' work.

May I suggest that you sort the lots all in the same way, for example by size? R<V<T<Ci<K<Ca (or the other way around) would be great.

I think if at least all NPC towns look as appealing as Brittany (don't have to be that huge), people might be more willing to spread out. In UO, while Britain is the main hub for bank sitting, but when it comes to housing, people have their own preferred towns because they all look difference and have their own charms.

No doubt more uniqueness would be nice.
They will go back and redo the scenes in later releases. So there is still hope.

    @smack, amazing. Thank you.

I've personally run into two things that have frustrated me when looking for housing. Please understand I'm now downing either just sharing a frustration. The choke points on the map and not being able to tell what is a POT vs NPC town.

I would love it if the font color for POTs could be different to aid in the exploring of a lot process. At the same time you don't want POTs to look different when out and about in the world because they are going to want visitors. I don't have the answer, just the question of what could make our searching easier.

The choke points frustrate me to no end... Starting at level zero if you want to get through one of these, better hope someone cleared it before you. Otherwise the housing plot you want on the other side is an issue. I guess we can force our class so we land in the section of the map we want.. Would love to see away around them other than a large sum of gold. Eh, done rambling.

Yes. All the old ones from R28 back has them. Haven't checked the new ones in R29 but they should have them as well.

I would say (for those that I've talked to that currently and may play the game) it's more about convenience availability.
    For example:
    • Certain scenes have pledgers with Expert+ stations. That's attractive. +30% crafting success is one of the largest advantages in the game today. Not having that/using them is... well, you're just throwing materials away.
    • Certain small scenes sell repair kits (Soltown/Braemar) whereas the PRT 2.0's (like Fons Vita) do NOT sell repair kits.
    • PRT 2.0's have horrific frame rates/performance/loading times, empty. Never mind what it will be like populated.
    • Certain story scenes have NPC's that buy items at considerably higher prices. That's attractive.
    • PRT 1.0's (the originals, like Redmill) have no NPC core. Will they be retrofitted? Who knows? Zero communication on Portalarium on this.
Solutions: (you want people to spread out? here's how)
    • Have every PRT sell repair kits.
    • Have every PRT sell all supplies required for all crafting professions.
    • Have every PRT buy at the 'attractive' rates.
    • Everyone can upgrade crafting stations to Expert+, PRIOR to july 28th, 2016, using appropriate 'engraving' or similar recipes. OR have every PRT 2.0 have an Expert station public crafting pavilion. That relegates the pledge reward to one of convenience, rather than necessity.
    • Make every PRT have the same performance & loading time as Soltown/Braemar. Even if that means immersion breaking visblockers, 50m 100% fog, whatever you have to do.
    • Retrofit all the original PRT 1.0's with the NPC core. They're smaller, load faster, and will be more attractive if that's done.
    • Change the zone-in/appearance point in all PRT 2.0's to the Town Square, not the edge of the map 1m45s from the town square.
Do that? IMO, more than half of the over 6000 pledgers will RUN to a PRT. As it is now? It's difficult to justify having a lot at all, vs. just crafting out of your bank in Ardoris, provided you can find someone with Expert+ stations anywhere in town.

Here's a quick look at what you are looking at for each town type to help you see the differences..Npc, PRT, POT.. Wagons in an NPC town or PRT it's a POT that doesn't have overland map access and is nested. Only NPC city/towns have the banners on the overhead map.

I wish they would just stick to the green roofed model for PRT's. It was so much easier that way. :(

@Ice Queen, did you notice if the PRTs had banners above them or do they look just like POTs? Little jealous you're playing now and I'm not!

No banners on PRT's the new PRT's have a pavillion next to the buildings, so you can distinguish them quite easily from a POT.

Oh, I"m not online playing atm, I just popped in real quick to grab some screenshots to show the differences to help out. :) I'll see you this evening though if you're online. :)
