Reflective/Shiny Surfaces

    Hello all!

    Note that it is a known issue that many surfaces are overly shiny/reflective. Moreso than they ought to be! Fixing will be a long and ongoing process.

    Please respond to this thread with objects you see this occurring instead of creating new threads.

    There is a root at this location in Blood Bay. It looks a little like a large snake. It is very shiny

    For me, the shininess is more noticeable during daylight.


    My character's plain-vanilla, purchased-from-NPC plate armor. Either this, or the material for the armor in prior releases was too dull.

    My self crafted bronze two-handed sword. As with the armor, either or.

    Vauban Pass:

    Red Spiders.
    Hardened Skeleton Archer Armor.
    Hardened Skeleton Fighter Armor. And Heavy War Hammer.
    Huge Corpions.
    Elder Wolves.

    All the statues in Xenos are very shiny (but beatiful!)

    Update: those made of some dark material. The brighter ones look ok.

    Player housing windows:

    Founder Knight's Keep windows: Area: Northwood (Novia_R9_City_Northwood) Loc: (-136.1, 46.7, 254.9)
    Knight Marshall Benefactor windows: Area: Northwood (Novia_R9_City_Northwood) Loc: (-139.2, 46.7, 228.0)

    When I get back to it, my large house in Broochash, as well.


    It could be a glass material with certain properties. The windows of the stationary air ship in Blood Bay appear the same.

    As mentioned in a prior post..

    The windows of a Duke Benefactor home. Sample location: Area: Broochash (Novia_R5_City_Broochash) Loc: (324.0, 85.0, -29.7)

    and, while I'm at it:

    The window in the door of the Citizen Benefactor


    The hinges and door pull of the Lord Marshal Benefactor home. Also, the six diamonds on the wall above the front door.

    Not sure if this is the same issue? You can see the hair is still not partaking in whatever is broken about the skin/body textures.

    This location is just left of the entrance. There is a rock formation there, but then look around. It is throughout the scene. Hopefully a global material fix can be had.

    @Attenwood , there are so many objects its almost hard to make a list that long... From Avatars skin/hair/eyes....to Clothing/Armor ....to almost everything I see.

    Out of curiosity... what happened to cause this?

    Hair still looking funny in 444, though almost the reverse of the above as for seems to be affecting hair but nothing else.

    pants are dyed grey and dark grey but are way brighter now
    epic cloth gloves arent dyed at all and now look funny bright blue and bright yellow and dont resemble the little icon anymore
