    Title: Missing Nameplates
    Reproduction Rate: 75%-95%
    Blocker? Partial
    Details:

Players trying to locate each other in parties have a very narrow range, sometimes requiring the player to be within weapon distance before the nameplate appears. Last night at the Vertas Sanctuary opening, I was unable to see a partied member from the docks to the dance floor which was about two village lots away.

When walking across the surface map, players you encounter may have no nameplate at all. Tapping the toggle for nameplates does not cause any change in status. The player may be examined to determine their name.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1) Wander the surface map, observe if the nameplates of the characters appear.
    2) Be partied by another player in the zone (it may require that the player has not shown their name plate to you yet)
    3) Observe if you can spot the player in the zone after joining the party.
    4) If you come across another player with a missing nameplate:
    a) Use Nameplate Toggle (usually "n" key) to see if it makes a difference.
    b) Use Examine on the player to determine who they are.
    c) Observe: Nameplate toggle doesn't add the nameplate, but the player's name can still be determined with examined.
    5) Observe the first attached screenshot:
    a) One player has their nameplate clearly visible.
    b) One player has a nameplate that isn't visible.
    6) Observe the second screenshot:
    a) Observe: Monster is targeted, no nameplate.

    @Alley Oop @Datendrache

If possible, we would like to discover clearer reproducible steps for getting this to occur. While we have observed this occurrence randomly, the closer we get to understanding a solid case to get to occur reliably, the faster we can get this fixed.

    Thank you.

    Mr. Attenwood Sir,

Attached is a video where I noticed various funky things. I have a few other videos prior if you need more supporting evidence but it all should be in this one. I'm hoping this make more sense to you then it does to me.

    1) The banker's title is missing. (leaving and coming back did nothing to fix this)
    2) Paulie Walnuts and I are in the same Patch revision, but can't get into the same instance. (Both at the same patch level)
    a) I went to Soltown, Oracle Oasis, Surface Map, and Teleported to him.
    b) Only when he left his instance did he become visible.
    3) Our range of visibility of each other was very short. We could move forward and away and see its range appears less than an arrow shot.
    4) Both of us could see no title on the same NPCs.
    5) Switching scenes did not change our visibility range.

    6) Not captured on video, I could not find an example of a player vendor that had the nameplate issue.

    Sincerely,

    Engineer
