Requesting alpha testers for a new texas holdem poker game

Calling anyone who can help me alpha test my poker game!

I am developing a poker framework that will, eventually, allow players of Shroud of the Avatar to gamble in game gold currency on a website based client. I have made initial progress with a php script on the server and need players to help me test the service. The poker variant is limit holdem with sit and go tables and has the ability also to run tournaments once enough players have registered.

The site is in a very early alpha stage. Essentially I have licensed a php poker script and web hosting on the address http://www.sotapoker.com

What I am requesting is for some Alpha testers to help me test the framework. At this early stage no in game gold will be used until the popularity of the service increases and there has been enough testing.

I will be running weekly competitions and giving out real in game gold, or other virtual item prizes to the top players to maintain interest based on the number of players registered.

You can help me test the website :

1) log on to the website ( http://www.sotapoker.com ) and click > create new player button
3) choose a username (choose something different from your SOTA account)
4) choose a password as shown (it is better to choose a different password than your shroud of the avatar account password!)

After your account it created you can click on "My Player" and the "im broke" function will credit you with 10,000 chips to play with. At this stage I will leave this function working until enough players have registered to allow this with less frequency. In future I may only allow you to credit once a week.

Of course at this stage everything is being done with play money chips. There is a ranking system already in place so the top player at the end of the week will get an in game gold prize, which will be announced at a later time, and is very much dependant on the number of registered players who are actively using this service.

I have only just recently setup the website today. And still needs quite a lot of testing before even thinking about moving to a system that uses IGG currency.

Yeah thanks, just looking at this now. I needed to set the .htaccess so if you go to http://www.sotapoker.com it will work now!

 

Tested quickly with s7 edge android chrome, works.

Tested just creation of player, getting to game, sit down leave and chat.

I like simple UIs like the one you have.
Dont like page loading, single page apps better. Eg more async. But thats just preference.

Player creation: too restricted name and password. Needs to be longer. Allow passwords of atleast 20 characters with specials.

How do you store passwords?
I see you have https there, but you have to explicit ask for it. So configure that as default. And link to that, not http.

Thanks for the feedback. This is my first website I've made so still quite a lot to learn. At the moment it is just the "out of the box" script which I have licensed. The passwords are encrypted in the database so even I can't see what they say. I will look at how they work and if it is possible to increase the length. Thanks for having a look

Website uses secure https for encryption now also

 

I tried everything possible with Windows 10/Firefox and couldn't find any problems. Looks like it will be fun to play....

 

Maybe also add text that says "do not use your SotA username/password"
