[Resolved] Game won't start on Ubuntu Linux

    1. Title: Game won't start on Ubuntu Linux
    2. Reproducible? 100%
    3. Blocker?Yes
    4. Details: When trying to launch the game on an up to date Ubuntu Linux 20.04 system it freezes with a black screen. The log reports frozen at the following line:

      Setting executable permissions for /home/robert/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/SotA/Shroud of the Avatar_Data/Plugins/ZFGameBrowser
      This has been a known recurring bug in Linux if I recall. I am not sure if this was caused by an update to SoTA or to Ubuntu Linux as both have been updated between my last launch of the game and now.
    5. Steps to Reproduce: Launch game on an Ubuntu 20.04 system with all updates installed.
    6. User Specs: (RAM, CPU, GPU and Operating System only)
      RAM: 16GB RAM
      CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X 3.5Ghz
      OpenGL renderer string: Radeon RX 5500 XT (NAVI14, DRM 3.35.0, 5.4.0-47-lowlatency, LLVM 10.0.1)
      OpenGL core profile version string: 4.6 (Core Profile) Mesa 20.1.8 - kisak-mesa PPA
      Distro: Kubuntu Linux 20.04

    False alarm, Somewhat. It was a Steam issue.

    Seems I had some sort of bad session of something with Steam. Steam was running fresh from update, Valve probably broke something in a script that required re-running. (I got cued in when only about half my steam games launched properly.)
