Details:
today I checked my crafting equipment on my new char "Reniar Woodpicker"

and all equiped but unused equipment (no skilladvancement) had 95/100 Durability...

maybe that is death Durability loss, because my /afk char was killed in a battle scene yesterday (seems my position was not out of reach and as i came back the avatar was at the entrance and the log showed he was arrowed to death)

is this a intended death penalty and respawn after timeout to reduce Durability on equipped tools?
weapons and armor ok (grml) but tools?

Steps to Reproduce:

get on my char and see his eg fishing rod at 95/100 but skill still at 1 no XP applied

You mention the equipped fishing tool but what about your other non-prosperity or artisan equipped tools? Do they all show 95/100?
Any chance they were like that before?
I ask because I just checked one of my characters and all of them are showing at 95/100...it may not be related to death at all, perhaps another issue we need to look into.

I only checked the euqipped and unused ones and all of them besides the prosperity tools equipped are 95/100
and no I don't know if they had this stat before I died

on the other tools I can't say if the actual dur is from a loss or from usage...

 

@Lexie could it be related to the known issue of durability loss when kicking down walls?

 

I did break open the gate in Highvale with this char, so if that is still the case.... (but was it to all equipped tools or only one?)

 

I know it damages pickaxes

ok then we have another prob here, because all my equipped tools that are damageable (no prosperity tools) got the dur-hit to 95/100

 

Well now I'm curious enough to test this by equipping all basic tools and going to kick walls down. I've been using prosperity tools for so long that I've never really seen this only heard about it

I will keep an eye on this as well. If everyone's equipped tools are all at 95/100, that would be something. Now that I'm aware something may be going on here, I'll see what patterns I observe.
