I'm trying to go around in Mount Midir to look at all the lots for the decoration contest.
I get the lot listing from the town crier and try to go down the list alphabetically.

Each and every time I've been to a few lots the game crashes with an Access Violation caused by UnityPlayer.dll.
I know this file is part of Unity, but there are some errors in the logs that might be the cause of the engine crashing.
    These entries all start with
BoxColliders does not support negative scale or size.
The effective box size has been forced positive and is likely to give unexpected collision geometry.
If you absolutely need to use negative scaling you can use the convex MeshCollider.

    followed by either of
    • Scene hierarchy path "PlayerTownPlot001/DynamicPlotVillageDecoItem(Clone)/PlotDynamicVillage/DynamicPlotParentObject/Table_Prefab(Clone)/sota_Book_Paq_Toj_Nach_Blq(Clone)/ItemWeapon_1H_Wand_Silver_Serpent_deco(Clone)"

    • Scene hierarchy path "PlayerTownPlot001/DynamicPlotVillageDecoItem(Clone)/PlotDynamicVillage/DynamicPlotParentObject/ItemWeapon_1H_Wand_Silver_Serpent_deco(Clone)"

    • Scene hierarchy path "PlayerTownPlot001/DynamicPlotVillageDecoItem(Clone)/PlotDynamicVillage/DynamicPlotParentObject/RugSet3_Rug7(Clone)"

    • Scene hierarchy path "PlayerTownPlot001/DynamicPlotVillageDecoItem(Clone)/PlotDynamicVillage/DynamicPlotParentObject/port_buildingBlocks_ice_4x2x4(Clone)/ItemWeapon_1H_Wand_Silver_Serpent_deco(Clone)"

To me it looks like there's a few faulty deco items in the scene.

If you want me to supply more info: by now there's quite a few crash reports on my hard disk. Just tell me if you want (part of) them.

    Crash!!!

Hmm... no, I don't have over 18 exabyte free to be allocated on my gaming rig.

I could and I normally do. But these crash were random and the errors unrelated to my specs.
I offered to provide more info when needed as well.

I haven't crashed in hours wandering about Mount Midir now though (not one crash afterp atch 965), so it seems to be solved for me.

I'd disagree, if you're running out of memory, it possibly is related.

Looks like the game is trying to allocate 18.4467441 Exabytes of memory. It’s definitely a memory problem, but not on the OPs end.

I could be wrong but looks more like a sudden memory leak/loop leading to a fatal error causing an instantaneous ctd.

And if this is the case, then its probably a Unity issue and not fixable by the SotA devs. Today I will try to reproduce this on my GNU/Linux system and see if we also have the same problem.

The only thing I do not really understand is why is @Chris his client not crashing in his streams. He does almost all his latest streams in Mount Midir and never seen him crash there.

I'm back to crashing repeatedly while trying to 'judge' the deco contestants.
Only thing different from last night (when I didn't crash) is that I go onto the lots now.

I remembered another thing I'm doing different now compared to last night: alt-tabbing out of SotA (to put scores and notes on the lots in a spreadsheet).

Changed from full-screen to windowed, to see if that helps.

Are u running the latest AMD drivers? (https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/bet...tware-adrenalin-2019-edition-19.4.3-apr22.exe)

Also I would recommend trying to fully clean install SotA again through the launcher.
    Could be some corrupted files.

Updated driver, going around in windowed mode: still crashing after a few lots. :(

A fresh install of SotA will have to wait until after I've seen all deco contest entries. :)

Patch 968: crashed on 2nd lot I visited in Mount Midir (Dartan Obscuro's one, after having visited Alioth's; visited both basements).

Time for a re-install to see if that helps.

Reinstalled, went on to Elryin's and Engineer's lot. Crashed again when passing Dartan's lot on my way to Fetid Sirdidy's... *sighs*

Logged back in, visited Feted Sirdidy's, Lars VonDrachental's (now unlocked for visitors) and Flinderke's... to crash on my way to Skye Azure's.

No more crashes after that, despite visiting tons of lots.

I guess this has to do with the random memory allocation bug, seems like a nasty Unity bug.
The only thing we can do is wait for SotA devs to update Unity and hope that it has been fixed soon. :(
