Details: Trying to place a variety of Deco on the roof top of the Gothic Inn. Unable to place, for example, Wind Mill Electricity Generator, Wooden Outhouse.
Steps to Reproduce: Try to place an object in a space with plenty of room. Fail.

I, too, own this home and would love to be able to place my round elven greenhouse on the roof, but can't. I've been made to understand that it's because certain types of deco are set to "ground only". Would it be possible to have the roof spaces of these homes with the flat terrace style roofs be designated as ground for deco placement? @Attenwood

Yes, it is true that some items are ground only, to go along with what Alley said. At one point the basement hatches was changed to be one of those as well. Those specific items that you both list are in this category.

 

I did notice that some of the Deco (like the Flame Elemental Statue) is placeable on other home roofs, but not the Gothic inn roof.
