reward helms, etc. only for melee!

So I know I should have realized this sooner, but when I was reading the latest update I noticed a nice looking helm. It seems like something a fighter or archer would be interested in wearing. So I'm wondering what, if anything is being created for the mages in the land! Are they doomed to wearing what appears to be a fighter's helm to get the extra benefits? If so, will there be fizzle and slug detriments attached to it, whereas other cloth helms are likely to not have those attributes attached to it? Should there be a similar helms at the different reward tiers for mages?

Oh and the sword also fall into this trap as well? What is the reward for the player's that would rather be mages at the start instead of fighters or archers?
