I'm not trying to be rude. It just seems you are trying to recruit(which is awesome) but I don't want the guy that signs up to think he is moving into the Sawtooth Mountains, probably one of the best spots on the map. It makes it difficult for other town owners who are patiently waiting for placement to recruit when they cant claim the same. I wish you all the luck in the world but Im gonna fight for fairness and equality until they kick me off of these forums.

My scene will be an underground cavern, I am still working on the layout but it hopefully will be creepy and crawly! I will do what I can to make it ominous, providing the resources given.

This is the kind of thing that I really enjoy, we can be enemies on the field, and have fun with it, not be jerks to each other. I am looking forward to our battles, and if you find more people that would like to play my style, send em my way . I will do the likewise for you!

I do not know of what you speak, Blake. There is no inherent unfairness here, and there is no preferential treatment. None of the republic has gone through our design sessions with the developers nor has anyone else. It is up to the individual town owners to recruit and plan their towns and communities, and build upon their community from an early stage. Sawtooth, like Port Phoenix and Phoenix Fields, has an aesthetic and a goal set and like many other town owners is putting its name out there in order to capture and bring in like minds.

You do not have to wait until your development session to get your name out. Most of us town owners have long since involved in the community building events, player quests, backstory and community roles. You can do the same, and do not have to rely upon any mechanics specific thing to be in place.

 

No one has gotten a town in pre alpha. We claim the land collaboratively and work together and roleplay it out to be a town.I think it is best to take some time to learn how the community in pre alpha is working before making presumptions and misstating things. It doesnt help anyone.

For now, I would say as ravicus said before to keep this topic on topic with Sawtooth Hollow. If you have another claim to make - lets bring a seperate topic up on that and not be impolite and derail.

Some people have great Ideas, and Saw Tooth Hollow is one of those ideas
I don't mind when Portalarium sees one of we players great ideas and then decides that there's some complement between them which has a place where that complement can become more enhanced by both sides. Equality is a nice word that is rarely seen on earth in it's pure form, because equality can only exist in a perfect world where constant balance is everywhere.

Saw Tooth Hollow is, and will make a great "showcase POT"
I'm sure that everyone's POT will have what it's owner set out to have, but only if the vision of the POT owner gets along well with the game's over all design. We needed a showcase POT to show everyone what could be achieved and how we as players can complement the game with our ideas and visions into the future of our game, and that's the greatest reason of we players helping our world become great here in it's early Alpha release.

Sawtooth Hollow is a great example, and an example we all needed and need to see!

I agree whole heartedly with everything Time Lord said. The ideas behind my simple port city pale in comparison to the unique concepts brought up for what eventually became the hollows. I have been happy to be able to call Ravicus friend and to work with him through release. A great addition to our republic as a person and as a town.

Also, hes fun even when youre arguing with him! As I know from personal experience. >.>
