Screenshots - Which key to use & where they are stored on PC?

Hi,
Another Newbie question...

I use Windows 10 & have tried to take screenshots using "print screen" key.
But if that actually worked, I couldn't find them on PC.
(I don't really want to have to open "Paint" program to save each screenshot.)

Is there another key/s to use to take screenshots & where would they be stored on my PC?

Also wondering if anyone can recommend a free/inexpensive program to make short videos in-game?
I saw the most amazing thunderstorm the other day & would have loved to capture that moment.

In the game it is F11. The pics end up in the shroud folder. On my phone now but can complement with exact location on PC later.
If you run through STEAM it is F12. Those pics end up in the game screenshots folder, right click the game to see where.


A few tips on taking screenshots:

• F9
  toggles the UI on/off, so removes all icons, trays, windows, buttons, and text
• in chat write
  /visible
  to make your avatar invisible (only to you).
  Toggle back again with same command.
• The V key toggles camera viewpoint.

So usually I do F9>F11>F9 when taking a screen.

Hmm, maybe I should do an FAQ quide tonight for this.

 

The in-game system Spoon described is better. But for the record, print screen in Windows doesn't save to a file, it just creates the image in your clipboard. So it's probably working, you just need to paste it into something to save it as a file.

I use the Windows 10 built in video capture program = XBOX. Once you tell it that SotA is a game, you can then press the Win+G key and access the video record option.

Thanks for the heads-up on the program in Windows 10.
But my "Win" key does nothing.
I have goggled it & tried a couple of things to re-activate it, but to no avail.
Last thing I want to do is mess up my PC.
My Tech capabilities are fairly mediocre. It's hard for an Old Gal, to learn new tricks
