So my original idea was to get all skills to 40 before even attempting to get anything higher. But being bored of 3 skull areas I decided to skill up my skills with the blade. I got the basic skill (increase in damage) up to 85 an feel a bit paranoid about skill decay as I do not seem to make enough exp to level 1 skill up to 100 without touching my skill pool.

What is the best way to deal with leveling skills above 40?

Even if you have all skills at level 80, it would still take less skill decay than having all GMs in 2-3 trees.

What I normally do though is to train one skill at a time until I hit 80 then switch to next one to ensure that I have XP on the pool enough to cover the decay. Just stock up to something like 100-200k, so you don't have to worry about skill decay for couple deaths.

Most of all, don't die :)

tactical deaths, basically earn more than youd lose by managing when you die

This game reminds me of a truck pull; the more you take on, the harder it becomes. I hope I am wrong about that going forward.

Sorry for offtopic, but remind me of something

About skill decay, until it seems i once had a and lost 20k xp i am now loosing only about 7k if i die.
That's around 30-60 minutes of playing if i choose the right Spot for me.
And dont die more. I 'm trying to not dying seriously, but not only because of decay, but because i just dont want to die ;-)
Adv Level 67 or 68 until and working further to skill all my skills to 80.
What will take a long long time for the innates and some buffs.
My main damage skills and some heals are 80. The rest is on the way.
