Also I recall as previous hangouts there was a mention of no likely recourse to a recall spell but rather gates which make more *cough* sense in pvp :p

I hope that wasn't dropped. It was also said it would be a high level spell and very expensive in reagents or some other modulators.

The original bug allowed you to have more than one rune... This led to people having backpacks full of runes... The developers then, later, developed the rune books to store them in since people didn't like shuffling through their backpacks full of runes.

I question that this was a bug. Perhaps you can supply a reference?

I was there... It was 17 years ago, and I seriously doubt the forum postings or other reference material exist any longer. If they wished, I'm sure @DarkStarr or @Lum could corroborate.

My concern is this one. My headset (logitech G930) has a nasty bug that causes the sound to go crazy when entering a zone, intermittently. Once it bugs out the only way I have corrected the issue is to exit to the over world map. I have to either turn off the audio till it's fixed or go deaf as it's very loud.

Haven't checked for the issue in R26.

Without the enter the game from the overworld map option I could have a long distance to travel while annoyed.

Turning off the headset and running out is an option but it's more time consuming.

You mean every time you bought a rune, it would have the same destination already marked on it?

    No ..and yes sorta.

They will work like they do now, but will cost a craftable to do.
You wont beable to "mark" any place you want.

You can zone to your home lot, or if you don't own a home, you can select a "home" town crier that you can zone to.
you can also zone to your friends.

There will be no "recall" Thank god.

I don't understand the question... Prior to the bug, there was no 'buying' runes.

It was always my understanding that you could bind one location to a single rune, not that you could only bind one location period. But I can see how that could confuse people.

Think he is saying you could only have one rune and the bug allows you to obtain more than one.

And I'm saying that I don't think that was ever the intent.

Agreed, all of those are changes for the better. I do hope they start monitoring the /stuck telemetry not just for continued exploits but to truly fix the genuine bugs that testers are using it for.

Also, same goes for Start on Overworld option -- rather than take it away initially, give it a cooldown or whatever too and monitor the telemetry on its usage. There are people who still use that for genuine bugs as well, but they are likely a lot less than when this feature was originally added as a workaround to zone crashing bugs (entering or exiting a scene).

Don't think what was the intent? That you could only have One Rune and thereby only One recall location?
I'm not offended if you don't believe my first hand experience of one of the main reasons I abandoned a game that I had anticipated with great fervor for a couple of years, you've no reason to accept my word at face value. I do, however stand by my statements. That's the way it was originally.

Well, the current /friends list will become a /follow list, so we'll still be able to see if others are online even if they don't accept. But the new /friends list will restrict who we can fast travel to.

It will have a cool down, but you're right, it just takes you to the last navigable point, not back to the start of a zone. ;-)

They didn't say 'nearest navigable point', they said the player's last navigable point. So that should prevent this type of exploit. ;-)

/stuck will be closely monitored in the future, in addition to its limited ability.. so if someone is abusing it (where they aren't actually stuck) they will be punished.
