I would like to offer my suggestion on how portalarium could make summoned magic pets more useful.

One of the things that needs to go with the summons if the stronger you are summoning them the stronger and harder they hit. So if oyu summoned very strong 5 skeletons?? possibly rtoo much

But yes using the spells / skills of the tree in general should have always been part of them, ans again scaled with Skill of the spell and specialization (attunement) of the caster. if oyu are a jack of all your summons should not be all that special sure stronger for being higher leveled but not all that special because you didn't specialize.

A female lich would be neat that casts spells.

Some interesting ideas, particularly the wisp-see-in-dark thing.
I think the problem with summons is the same age old balance problem - can't make them too good, or everyone will feel the need to have them. Same problem we had with taming.

Unless the pet AI has some sort of miraculous fix to make the pets not stupid, I don't see "elemental pets as extra damage" ever being buffed to a useful enough level. Currently the pets take a long time to engage, and even at grandmaster level are hitting for +/- 10 damage. They are a bit of a joke. Even if their damage was quadrupled, the poor pathing, slow engagement, and tendency to wander off make them of limited usefulness. Making them add some sort of utility seems a lot more feasible. Having pet attacks act as resistance reducers(in any/all element) would actually make them useful. It would also help mitigate the problem that every single large target in the game is highly magic resistant.

Pets engage fairly quickly if you make sure you tab target and have them set to aggressive and are not in the way. Some are better than others.

But again... make them too good and nobody will not use a pet. They are just neck items (or spells) don't forget.
