Sprint and Dash on overworld

Since speed boosts have been limited to two, can you please allow us to use Sprint and Dash on the world map? Thanks.

 

The only things that I know to work are coconuts or fleet flute

A few releases back, they made your regular speed on the overworld match that of the coconuts, so the coconuts provide nothing extra.

 

I asked for this two years ago, and you also had a previous post on this. Answer: <reasons>. It's amazing what people come up with to argue.

Long story short - game elements should be fun. Overworld travel for the most part is a monotonous, routine part of "grinding" in the game. Either, make overworld travel more engaging OR offer ways to reduce the tedium for it (like using sprint/dash). Examples of this are legion in the game already, e.g., farming is tedious so agriculture skill allows you to do more for convenienve, crafting batches go up with skill, gathering speed goes up, even things like the light spell.

Wolf speed potions also work on overworld. And you can pre cast sprint in a scene before entering overworld. That being said:

So if it matched other mechanisms already in place... Then Sprint should be enabled. Currently, can use armor strength on overworld but not strength of earth. Same case for stealth, etc. If they enable magic on the overworld then there ya go.

 

Just drink a potion of Wolfs Speed. At least that finally makes that potion actually useful....

 

Wolf speed potions should be usable on the world map too.

 

I also thought the OW runspeed is increased when i came back.
Are Coconuts useless now?

@Vyrin lets hope a lot of adjustments will be made to step out of babylon and make it more fun and meaningfull in the end.
Many "reasons" also against my ideas and opinions, agriculture for example, but some things changed in the long term and pleased me, so there is hope.

There's no difference between using the coconuts and not using the coconuts on the OW. They still make you slightly faster in town though.

 

TBH I can run from shrek all the way to soltown in an incredibly short amount of time, I dont see it as tedium or arduous

 

I typically run a lot from Aerie to Britain, and for that I use a potion usually.

 

Strength of Earth works on the overworld, but you have to cast it before leaving a scene.

 

Mounts !!!! Come on y'all

Fleet flute is super annoying (every 30 seconds) and it's expensive
Coconuts are annoying (You can't interact while mounted !!!!) and they don't go on as a single item (why not ! treat them as 2H sword!)

 

Agree. It has a long enough duration to last, especially when the duration decrement on effects does not match actual zone swapping time. Inner Strength can be directly used in Novia. My SoE lasts over 31 minutes, and my dash currently lasts about 25 seconds which would come past due on zone transition in most cases. Thus dash will most likely not be a factor on Novia.

 

A fleet flute is expensive but more than worth the investment if you can afford it. Watch those bandits and skeletons try to figure out what just blew past them!

 

Not everyone has a Fleet Flute, which is why I'm asking for this.
