    The Froat Giant still is bugged.

    We were there in a Group of 11. We stood there for half a hour beating it. Every healing modifier you can think of on it. After this half hour (or more) we had him down to around 800k. Then suddenly he made strange moves and healed himself back up to full life in a matter of seconds.

    Granted, we could improve our damage output a bit but his self healing is ridiculous.
    And to not be able to finish him, because he resetted, is too.

    We were able to observe this behavior twice during an attempt on the giant's life today (May 15th).



    I wasn't targetting the giant very much (I was healing), but starting at around 27:00 you can clearly observe the Giant healing himself. @Alley Oop was in party too and can confirm that it happened twice.

    ~26:45 and ~42:10 the giant starts bouncing in and out of combat (hammer out and put away) and regenning. it looks like both times he was knocked down while in the midst of doing his standing straight up and raising his hammer with both hands animation.

    Thanks for the video, but it's a bit long and I'm not sure what I'm specifically looking for. I did a quick scan to see if I could see something like the health bar instantly refilling, but didn't see it Maybe you could point out a specific issue and give me the time that it appears in the video?

    it is around 3:50 when there is a big regen, he is dancing around, and you also notice the amount of damage coming into the players. He doesn't always do a big dance and regen but around 7:53 you can see he starts to talk a lot and stand there and try to dance when he is moved again. From there he is moved around until he finally settles into a spot that we can take him down. If you notice players are also taking much larger damage spikes in the begining then in the end when we find a good spot where he doesn't move and dance.


    This might help illustrate it better...
    3:25 - Giant in combat stance (1.098m health)

    3:49 - Giant recovers from knockdown in talking/dialogue pose (1.064m health)

    @Flair Thanks for all the extra details! Added to issue #69709.

    I'm not our combat expert, but my feeling is that it might not be a NavMesh issue. When there is such an issue, it's almost always a case where the NPC in combat thinks it can't reach any target, so breaks out of combat, runs back to "home," heals up to full, and can't be attacked while running to home. None of that is happening here so the two big alternatives that come to mind are the giant's AI and combat abilities. I don't handle either one of those, so I'll have to pass it along to a programmer to look into.

    When this gets looked at another think devs can do to try to trigger it is to have multiple people fighting the giant and try to get him to switch aggro target between them. Players don't have access to real current aggro numbers so it is hard for us to tell how much of the giant's behaviour is related to aggro but sometimes (not always) the giant will do a regen when he stops attacking the tank, turns to look at the rest of us then eventually goes back to the tank. Sometimes he gets talkative during those times though so maybe it isn't aggro making him stop fighting- hard to tell I am generally focused on his foot! :)

    I couldn't think of a non-tedious way to sync Flair's video with my chat log when I did the timestamps above, but if it would be useful to know what he specifically says in these instances I can pull that info out. In the mean time, in case it's at all helpful:

    Of the 5 fights we did that day, here are the number of times he talked, followed by the amount of total damage we dealt in order to kill him. Naturally we are not perfect in our fights, but the correlation is strong, and something we've been noticing for a while. This is excluding his dying words, specifically it's lines in the chat log matching the regex .*Frost Giant\: \(fighting\).*
