I'm sure many here are familiar with the bulk order deeds from UO and I would like to suggest something along the same lines to give crafters some long term goals to work towards.

Crafted artifacts could be a full set of gear aimed towards a single profession that increases the chances of making an exceptional item. An example of this would be Blacksmith Helm, Chestpiece, Pants, Gloves, Boots, Ring, Necklace, Cloak with each item giving you +5% chance to make an exceptional item meaning a full set at GM blacksmith would have 65% chance of an exceptional item.

These would obviously take a lot of resources and time investment to get the artifacts and that is where bulk orders would come into it. Similar to the mail system you could only have one of these at a time and no way to change it until it is complete. Bob in Ardoris would ask you to go make 10 plate helmets and deliver them to Steve at Desolis, turning this in to Steve along with the helmets and he will ask you to deliver 10 chain chest pieces to Pete in Brit etc etc. Since you could only have 1 of these active there would be no dumping it and hoping to get one with less materials or trading them with anyone else. Only the crafter themselves could actually do it.

Turning one of these in gives you a crafting token which can then be used to purchase the artifacts outlined above similar to the coto vendor (so 10 tokens = 1 artifact). Preferably the tokens, artifacts and the bulk orders would all be non-transferable as they would be quest items but it would mean that dedicated crafters could spend weeks/months and tons of materials in order to be a better crafter.

The examples above are for blacksmith but could also be relevant to carpentry and tailoring as well.

Great idea. I think the cost of a crafting artifact should be something like 50 or 100 tokens though, not just 10.
