Taming Nerf

Ok I understand trying to get a balance in game play but to take away 90% of a pets health is just a little over the top. I guess you need to be GM to get jsut a 50% nerf

 

Even with 60+ taming skills, pet's health now became below 30% of what it was before

 

Yes, the level cap is 200 it seems, all taming skills are a fraction that fit along that scale.. might be a bit harsh of a nerf, how many ppl and how long will it take to see anyone even close to 150? At what cost? For what benefit?

 

I have 102 taming, 94 summoning, 63 combat training +5. My pet no matter which one ferocious wolf spider, ferocious red spider, large red spider, are all 186 health 295 focus. The changes make the taming tree makes the whole line worthless to me until maybe you're 150-200 in those skills later on which I suppose they are now calling max level...200

I expected a huge nerf but not so bad that the tree is worthless unless you're 150-200 in those skills, that will take a long time, especially since you'll be farming greens in most level 5 tiered zones forever currently for xp.

 

Taming as a skill is now only valuable to the tamer, and then it is of modest value. Gone is the incentive to buy pets, they are worthless in combat. Unless, certainly, you are a super tamer. In which case, you would make your own pet, and not buy one.

 

Spent so much time leveling taming and now it's so worthless.
It took weeks to get 70+ taming skills and now I only have 170 hp pokemon (originally 520hp).
I guess I have to spend half a year to level creature up to its R32 original stats, but I don't find it so entertaining to continue.

 

Chris said it shouldn't be treated like a full class because you have your pet plus all your other combat skills. Except you invest as much XP in it as other skill trees, so it really as much as class as anything else.

Well, I say the whole tree is not worth spending all the xp and time for silver mining for collars for me now. Sayonara taming tree, I can use that xp for something that is actually useful to me now.

Honestly, all this patch was....is subliminal messaging to go the route of the mage summons!!

 

Im pretty sure none of the devs leveled taming from 0 with to 100 doing it the correct way, they just saw people working the system and assumed thats how everyone did it. I would challange a dev just to get to 100 doing it the legit way and I bet half way threw they would say forget it its not worth it.

Sad thing is, it was actually one of the fun things to do even though it is a serious grind.

 

We need some higher level zones now with better xp since they've pretty much announced 200 is level cap, sitting in the level 5 zones farming greens for 130 more levels ain't gonna cut it lol.

 

Could always grind out The Rise... Also, is The Artifice open yet?

 

That is roughly 4mil xp spent a day to lvl 200 in a year. Good luck.

 

It's not worth it xp wise by myself, takes too long to kill something alone. I'm a loner or duo'er when xp grinding lol. If xp and loot per hour was better there I wouldn't mind grouping up to do it, but loot is just salvageable junk everywhere now, lol.

 

While I agree taming needed some major adjustments in how it worked, now there's no real incentive to even use a pet. I worked my way up slowly to level 50 across the board in most of the taming skill categories. But now my arctic wolf has 98 HP? That's like 2-3 hits and dead. I was expecting some kind of progressive nerfage, where the lowest level critters wouldn't be dropped that much, but the higher end ones would see larger reductions in both HP and damage.

But this is just turning taming into a components sink, since if I even have any of the critters out with me in combat, they're going to need constant resurrection.
