It's my fav card game. And it's on UO freeshards, but the scripters of those UO freeshards spent a long time perfecting those scripts, so I'd say it's easier said than scripted, but, Portalarium did have and does own a texas hold 'em game that was on facebook. I played it a few years ago. I don't know how easy it would be to implement their facebook hold 'em game into SotA, but it probably wouldn't be easy. I'd hope to be wrong and if it's easily portable I'd say do it. But at launch I wouldn't expect it. More down the road, as they're still working on the key features of the game.
Yeah the "no-brainer" was tongue in cheek...just noting my support for such a feature if/when the developers have time .
Perhaps you can create your own poker table and put it in your house and it lets you play local poker games with friends, or connects you to multi-player tournaments. Or maybe you could only play at NPC thieves guild locations? just ideas. Just remember, 3 of a kind beats a straight.
As far as the poker code goes, at least Portalarium has the poker rules/"bot" mechanics worked out (porting these to C# or whatever they're using with SotA would probably be easy). Shoe-horning it into the actual game is where the work would be. Have no idea, IANAP.
I am VERY much in favour of more mini games in the game. I *LOVE* The huge chess , and i want to see MORE.
Regarding mini-games and in game games, they have stated a couple of times that this is planned for post-launch in the monthly releases. So promises first, then launch, then monthly releases to add flavor and extra content - like mini games and in game games.
