The black screen of where am i??

OK everyday i run teams of new players through the sewers, showing them all the epic gear chests , secrets and pathways. I have been doing this for quite a while and am used to occasionally getting that black screen as if there was 0 light. Today however it happened to me 26 times just from start of owls head sewer to the lich room, all 5 members of the party at different times got the same problem at different times making that section completely unplayable. I can not figure out what has changed down there since yesterday to cause this and since it is a known issue i am posting here rather than filing a bug report. This is my favourite way to pass the time and i am upset that i disappointed a group of new players that were quite excited to be there anybody know a work around other than re-logging every 5 mins?

 

Sorry I can't answer your question because I'm another one of those new players who hasn't a clue what he's doing or where things are, but I would love to take one of your tours. If that isn't possible, could you at least tell me where the entrance to the sewers is so that I can go explore for myself?

Welcome to Pre Alpha Blues. Maybe the devs did a hot patch or something. In pre alpha strange things do happen. I hope that everyone understands this is a testing period.

I have feeling, that I get this bug way more often when I pla with more people, I do not think I get it when I am alone in the dungeon but in full party I am blind all the time. It may be the coincidence though.

 

I get an error like this from time to time when I am running on my AMD/ATI setup. On my Intel/ATI computer I have no issues. My solution for this was to use the latest beta drivers for my graphics card and tweak the settings. It wasnt always the same settings that would fix my black screen. Sometimes adding or disabling shadows fixed it, sometimes using the 'fastest' setting would fix it. You have to find the trigger that is causing your system to go black. If you are comfortable with it, I would recommend updating you graphics driver to the latest version available.

In any case, I would recommend reporting the bug in the bug forum for R13. This will help the development team identify and track the issue.

Promies promies.... its worked in R12... i havent had to use it in R 13

 

I dont know you and I both got it when it was just the two of us.

 

The Owl's Head sewer entrance is on the right below the first guarded bridge.
The Kingsport sewer entrance is on the right below the first bridge.

Then those sewers are interconnected with all the underworld scenes.
So Owl's Nest is connected, Dragon's Cave is connected and Ravensmoor is connected.

 

Doesn't seem to be a hardware or driver issue, did some more testing but i will take your advice and fill out a bug report.

Oh and /zone self (or anybody else) works as a temp fix, ty Keira

100% sure its worse for parties.
