I haven't seen anyone talking about this yet but after watching the last two livestreams, I expect that LFGs for upper tears will become a thing of the past.

I think Chris is, wisely, doing what he can to mix things up and improve the legacy of this game we love. UT was fun, but it was basically an experiment that ran its course. We can remember it for the billions of XP it produced, I certainly pulled 50 million if not 100 million out of that fantastic spot.

Mac... easily pulled 1.5 billion out of there by himself.

Here's hoping Chris keeps dialing it in to be a great group cave that even the god tier characters want to part up on.

Frankly ut sucked (stuff I cannot say here) for what they clasify as high end content. Good riddance old crappy ut and hell ya new and improved ut.

now with that grandstanding done they do need mid tier content that’s fun for mid to low level groups that’s still rewarding.

hopfully u’ll see high end groups lfg ut
And mid tier groups lfg Vp brightbone or any of the other Cp’s.

Yup. After watching that i can say that UT will end up being only ultra-high level players. Not necessarily a bad thing, and i suppose the point of the re-balancing of the scene. Now we'll probably start hearing people complain about it being too hard!

UT had a good run. Being that it was the only place people went LFG hopefully now other places flourish. I agree with @Scoffer hopefully the zombie room is next or it'll become the UT2.0.

I'm glad Chris finally made this change.

I've been predicting this for some time. Once we get all the balance changes in, we really need that reset. (ducks)

I agree. Whether it is a hard reset (full char wipes) or soft leaving all items and pooling all exp, the game needs a reset. Even WoW lets people respec for free when huge changes are made.

While I can't 100% disagree with a hard reset from Chris's perspective, it would most certainly mean that I seek my gaming enjoyment elsewhere. It would make me sad, but after 6 years I don't think i'd want to go through a complete restart.

A bit of a contrarian view....

I've been wondering about this for awhile from a new players perspective.

Millions and Billions of XP were made crafting tabletop catapults and UT when everyone knew that they shouldn't have been the way they were but took advantage of them anyway because they were rewarding and easy. That experience didn't go away when the catapult level was changed and it's not going away now that UT isn't a place that everyone who's been playing for 6-8 weeks can go.

If I were a new player how would I feel about that?

I'm not new new (~2+ years playing) but if I were I'd likely take a look around, read these forums and realize that I'd have to spend a LOT more time doing the same boring stuff over and over and that there's no longer an "easy mode" way to begin to "catch up". That wouldn't convince me that this is the game I want to spend my time on or open my wallet supporting.

No idea how or if this should be addressed but I suspect it will impact new player retention.

Sounds to me more like they meant resetting all the skills in all trees, not a full wipe. To allow the ability to respec

people can respec I’ve done it 10 or more times now, greater scroll of unlearning does this.

Or are you suggesting Chris mails out one book to everyone for free? Honestly I’d like one but the changes seam more globalized to me.

simple really, take a exsisting cp make it easier and target low to mid level players. Have it pay out in the 1 million range and establish that the new free lunch area for low players to grow.

Do we really have to have it so your skills are applied by using skills? Why can't we just click a button instead of spending hours in front of a dummy casting ice field?

That to me is a QOL thing, and I'd be more willing to do a respec.

Edit: Heck, let's throw Kosh into the wind, and say, permanent 100% respect whenever, always.

there already 1 like this for newbies, and 1 like this for maybe lvl 50ish

Theres also one with mushrooms that the loot isnt great on for folks getting on up there

I think theres another smaller one with a unlockable room as a reward that a lvl 20ish person could handle
